Love Mosaic:
A Collaborative Game of Discovery and Love

For the 2013 Global Game Jam, I created a game in a weekend (January 25-27, 2013). The theme of that Global Game Jam was this recording of a heartbeat.

You can play the game here. Players collaborate to uncover a hidden picture by writing a message to a loved one that matches the proper requirements set by the game, though the players are on the honor system since it's easy to cheat. The list of diversifiers inspired me, and I used the following ones to help guide the design:
True Colors: The game uses only 16 colors.
I Know What You Did Last Summer: The game world is persistent from session to session.
No cheating (please): The game system relies on willing player participation to enforce the rules of the game world. (Update 1/1/2014: You can see that spambots didn't follow this rule, but they inadvertently helped complete the mosaic anyway!)
Approved for All Audiences: The game must not show any violence, not even cartoonish.
May the (Web) Force Be with You: The game runs in a browser with no plugin.
I'm Board: Make a game that is inspired by, but not a simulation of, a popular board game. (Note: I dislike the sarcasm inherent in the board game "Sorry!" - you're not actually sorry. My game strives to reject sarcasm in favor of evoking honest and true emotion from the players.)

I might create a video later, hopefully time lapse. You can explore the official GGJ website for this game. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to contact me!
